Opportunity: Microsoft wanted to enter the market with a slick, easy to carry keyboard as an accessory to the tablet and designed to integrate with Windows 8. The cover of the tablet was also meant to double as a tablet stand for easy typing.
Process: I was responsible for running a series of usability tests in the Microsoft usability labs, talking with tablet users and understanding their aesthetic and functional needs. Ovo Studios enabled easy capture and video editing for the final report.
Outcome: With keys spaced closer together than a traditional keyboard and a cover that turns off the device to limit battery drain, Microsoft entered the market with a beautiful and functional accessory.
